Teams have been introduced to MacHeist for the first time! And I am more than happy to represent the Blue Team. But to be fair to everyone, I’ve created this wallpaper in four flavors – one for each team.

For those of you who don’t know (and I imagine that to be all of you except a few of my friends), I was one of the artists for both MacHeist I and II. I’d say that it’s quite an experience working with the crew.

One day, Phill came knocking on my AIM, and asked me to help create an iPhone. I was surprised that he came to me (considering they already had Adam on the team, and directorate John didn’t seem to like me from MDA). Nonetheless, that was my first official job for MacHeist. At the time the iPhone was only a rumor, so I had little to work off of. What would a phone from Apple look like?

Well, apparently my design for an iPhone was way off. We joked in the forums that some person would eventually find the pic and post it as a real iPhone concept from Apple. Surprisingly, one blog came close to believing it. Of course, within 30 minutes they found out otherwise.

During the first season of MacHeist, I didn’t really do much official work. However, I did have tons of fun making a bunch of desktops during the heists, and released an icon.

It was also MacHeist I that I met Jonathan. At the time, he was working on an app called Deheister. I jumped in to help out with graphics, and we ended up making a pretty good team. The app had notes, ability to encrypt/decrypt text, and a built in RSS for MacHeist. The directorates saw our work and asked us to turn it into a simple encrypt/decrypt-only app for them. This resulted in two things – the birth of Cypher, and the birth of MacMage. We had formed a software gig from our dynamic duo.

Mac World rolled around, and I met up with some of the MacHeist people. They held a Delicious Generation party, and I was asked to design the invitation card for them. For the most part it turned out decent, except for the horrible directions I put on the back to the party. But I blame MapQuest for that. And Phill for not checking it for me even after I told him to check it. They apparently found the directions to be bad AFTER they printed it all out.
